COSA SUCCEDE QUANDO SMETTI DI MANGIARE ZUCCHERO!
How many times have you heard people saying “Oh, I gave up sugar!” or “I don’t eat sugar any longer!”, and they are pretty convinced in what they are doing. But do you really know why it is so beneficial to give up sugar?
How does your body changes when you stop eating sugar?
Let me explain you a few things and then.
Stop eating sugar – means stop eating just about anything that cointains sugar, not just sweets and cookies. Sugary drinks for instance, they have to go too.
In a matter of a few hours, really, from stopping eating sugar, your level of the hormone called “insuline” will start to come down. It favours retaining fat, and it makes it more difficult to loose weight. So as soon as you stop eating sugar, it make it a lot easier for your body to access body fat and use it for energy.
Over a longer period of time we can notice that there is a difference in how we taste things, the palte will chance, and things that once teasted “normal” to you, they might taste very sweet now, because you are not used to that any more. This means that at the same time your mind will send you some kind of message like “hey, it’s fine, it tastes deliciuos the way it is, do not add any more sugar!”, and you will not crave for sugar any more.
In a month or so the Lipid level in your blood start to drop, especially “triglycerides” and they can be dangerous for things such as heart diseases. On top of this also levels of “bad
cholesterol” will go down.
But why are we so addicted to sugar?
Well, it’s because it releases “dopamin” in the brain, and “dopamin” is responsable for almost any addiction, and yes, if you are thinking that sugar is like a drung, you are actually not too far from the truth, bacause recent studies have actually proven that sugar could be a substitive sonstance for drugs.
Sugar is hiding in all sorts of places, check labels! Things such as yogurt, pasta sauce or protein bars have so much sugar in it, yes even pasta sauce!
Try to detox and give up all sugary things. But let me honest here: you are going to feel really bad for a few days, because as I’ve mentioned before, it’s like an addiction and taking sugar off your system will make it go “crazy” for a few days.
Be strong, don’t give it, it’s a matter of 10-15 days and you’ll feel amazing afterwards!
Even though you don’t need to loose weight, trying to give up sugar will brings some beneficials so it is definitelly worths it.
Remember that if you decide to detox and stop eating sugar, you should follow a healthy diet: each meal should include healthy fats, fibres and proteins, a balanced meal. Getting more proteins in your diet is a great way to balance out sugar levels and this with sto sugar cravings. Of course within certain limits, always try not to exagerate with protein intake, as for everything we eat.
Have you ever tried to detox from sugar?!
